This week's video game sales charts are out for the UK and it revealed a pleasant surprise for the Crash trilogy. The game has surpassed Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Mario Tennis Aces, and Kirby Star Allies to become the fastest selling Switch game in the UK. It's important to keep in mind that the price-point of £30 versus £60 probably has a lot to do with that, since you're essentially getting three games for £10 each.
Crash took the number one spot at the top of the charts and it's not until the number four spot where Mario Tennis Aces appears that we see another Switch game. Still, three of the top ten games in this week's best-seller list are Switch titles.
The good sales do have a silver lining, too. If the Crash trilogy continues to perform well in other regions across the world, there's no way Activision won't consider a remaster of the original Spyro trilogy. That's even more exciting for older gamers who have fond memories of flying around as a little purple dragon. While I never thought I'd see the day where Crash would grace a Nintendo project, Spyro has already been at home on Nintendo thanks to Skylanders' success.
What do you think of this news? Would you be interested in a remaster of the Spyro platformers since the Crash remaster seems to be doing so well across all platforms?
