One of the big announcements during this morning's Indie Highlights showcase was Everspace by Rockfish Games. The game is slated to debut on Nintendo Switch this December as Everspace: Stellar Edition. This version contains the base game, expansion, artbook, and the complete soundtrack and will be available both digitally and as a physical collection.
The game is currently playable at Gamescom at the Nintendo booth Nindie Area. Rockfish CEO Michael Schade was excited to finally showcase the game to fans.
“Over the past four years we’ve managed to build a passionate community of sci-fi and space shooter fans, so we are delighted to recruit even more on Nintendo Switch. Thanks to the fast-paced and easy-to-pick up gameplay, with comparatively short game sessions and automatic savegames, EVERSPACE is also a perfect match for playing on the mobile Switch console without losing long-term motivation. Players can easily pause the game and pick up right where they left off later when on the go.”
Everspace was successfully kickstarted back in 2015 before releasing on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. The game was created by a team of twelve developers and focuses on telling a compelling story with space combat and crafting new weapons for your ship. The roguelike aspect of the game sees no two runs feeling the same and makes it an excellent addition to the Switch library.
