Octopath Traveler's hotly anticipated release date of July 13 is fast approaching and we've learned that the team doesn't have any plans for post-release DLC after the game drops. The Nintendo Switch-exclusive RPG is developed by Acquire and published by Square Enix.
Japanese outlet Dengeki Online sat down with producer Masashi Takahashi to discuss the game. Takahashi confirmed that it will take around 50 to 60 hours to complete just the main story. For fans who want the full experience and plan on doing all the side quests and optional dungeons, you can expect around 80 to 100 hours of gameplay.
Takahashi confirmed his team is not looking at post-release DLC at all, because "the release version is a finished product." That's a welcoming statement from a game developer when Season Pass DLC has become the norm for most RPGs. Of course, this doesn't confirm that the game will never have any DLC, but it's heartening to know we'll be playing a finished product upon release instead of having to pay for more characters later.
You can play the first three hours of Octopath Traveler for free by downloading the demo on Nintendo Switch.
