Bill Trinen Discusses Possibility of SSBU Demo

Demos for ARMS, Splatoon 2, and Mario Tennis Aces happened

With the upcoming release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, plenty of people are wondering if we'll get a demo for users who aren't sure if the fighting game fits their style. Nintendo has been pretty generous with its demos for multyplayer-focused products as a way to give users who are on the fence about purchasing the game a good reason to do so.

ARMS, Splatoon 2, and Mario Tennis Aces all three had an extensive online demo that was available for players to try the game before making a purchasing decision. Recently, IGN caught up with Nintendo of America's Bill Trinen to ask whether Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will get the same treatment.

As you can see in the video above, Bill was pretty deflecting with his answer. He said, "Right now they're focused very much on getting the game ready. We have a few other things to talk about down the road between now and when it launches in December. We'll hopefully have some news on that as we get closer to launch."

It makes sense that Nintendo doesn't want to answer too many questions about the availability of a demo, but given their track record I believe it's possible we'll see a demo. What do you think? Are you going to buy Smash anyway or would you like to play it first in demo form?
